The Skjærgårdsgospel Foundation has since 1981 organised this festival, which in 2013 was renamed to Seaside Music & Mission Festival. The festival started in Kragerø, but moved to Risøya in 2000, where resides today.

In addition to Seaside Music & Mission Festival, the foundation organise events throughout the year such as Costal Sang, child-gospel festival, Russe treffet Kragerø and The 24 Hours Festival.

Seaside Music & Mission has a very broad musical expression, which is carried out at the festival`s 7 different venues. Representing everything from silent hymn in a stonechurch to blackmetal at the BlackWhite stage.
