The Jørn Hilme-stemnet was held for the first time in 1960 and is the oldest folk music festival in Norway. From the beginning, the Jørn Hilme-stemnet has been an event combining kappleik (a competition in folk music and dance), concerts, theatre, and dance. The concerts have been increasingly highlighted during last years, but the kappleik is still one of the largest in the country. The unique combination of kappleik, festival, courses, and dance is what makes the event so popular. At Jørn Hilme-stemnet you will find a bit of everything. Last year’s festival was attended by over 8000 people!
